Where does all that kindling come from?

Picking through the pile can be a challenge. Most folks take the larger slabs for firewood, we needed the smaller stuff that is easy to split [caption id="attachment_556" align="alignnone" width="375" caption="25 dollars a truck load best deal in town!"]25 dollars a truck load best deal in town![/caption] When starting your fire at the resort appreciate the work put into the kindling. Usually Craig's remodeling projects keep us supplied but once in awhile time to head to the lumber company. Next step is unloading, chop saw, splitting, loading into wheel barrow and piling in the shed. Keeps everyone busy [caption id="attachment_554" align="alignnone" width="375" caption="Never leave home without a red flag"]Never leave home without a red flag[/caption] [caption id="attachment_557" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Snow covering the lake"]Snow covering the lake[/caption] Enough snow came down in the afternoon to cover the lake. On our way back from the lumber company we saw our first ice fisherman on Lake Minocqua. The other day we measured the ice at about 2 inches. It always amazes me the first crazy people that head out on the lakes. I guess the walleye fishing is supposed to be good at this time, personally I am not taking my life in my hands to get walleye and will happily go to Save More for some fillets vs. creeping out on a barely frozen lake to sit on a cold bucket and watch a 6 by 6 hole and pray the ice is thick enough.
