Troy and I took a little trip away from the resort. We headed out on The Empire Builder train out of Saint Paul. We loved it 2 days out to Seattle watching all the scenery from the train. We also treated ourselves with a sleeper car, private bath and dinning food. It was a wonderful trip. We went to Olympic National Park, Mount Rainer and a ferry ride to Vancouver Island. It was a much needed escape. Thanks to everyone that helped us especially Mike and Ruth Grady who watched the goldens for us while we were gone. Steve and Amy kept eyes on everything else. Steve is always ready to run things when we leave but he is very happy to hand back the day to day stuff to us when back.

We got to hug a tree before heading back.

Meanwhile, Eagles Nest's new septic arrived. Exciting stuff that we invest in but nobody sees. We are seeing how the weather goes allowing the guys to finish Eagles. After the septic, we are burying a water line to Eagles Nest that will work in the winter. Installing a furnace and closing up the foundation also on the list. There are no promises yet, but we will know soon if it will be open for Christmas. Stay tuned
We are seeing an up tick in reservations for now through winter. With all the chaos in the world today with airlines and traveling to cities, I am hearing from many they just want a way from the chaos and quiet time Up North. So if you are considering coming up check out our availability chart.

The septic line going in.

Len Lafrenier, who has installed every septic in the resort, grinning as he replaces the last septic that was not his. Len's son in law is working with him and we hope many more years of work between their family and ours. If you have septic tank you understand it is good to have a guy like Len around.

Stay tuned I will let you know if we open up Eagles for winter reservations.

We had 2 of our 3 boys around this weekend. Jake and his fiance Trinity, Grant and his fiance Bex. Jake on the left lives locally and folks see him the most around the resort. He is teaching high school in Prentice this year. Trinity is the music teacher in Phillips. Trinity bought a house in Phillips and they have been spending time working on it. Grant and Bex live in Green Bay with Moose. Moose loves the resort and does doughnuts around the resort when they arrive. Grant works for Conger Fork Lifts in their marketing area. You have heard me say his side kick is being the game day photographer for the Packers. We tried to spot him on the field last night at the Monday Night game but missed him. We love hearing his stories about who he runs into at the game. He is always close to the tunnel on the field when the team goes out in beginning and half time. Bex is a landscape designer for Vande Hey, in Green Bay area. We love having the kids home.
