Snow has been steadily falling adding up slowly. The cold snap has added a lot of ice to the lake making it safer and safer.

Finally, all of the swamps throughout our trail system are completely frozen and safe for snowmobiles to travel over. Generally speaking, the Corridor Trails are in fair and changing to good condition when riding from east to west. Most Club Trails have yet to be panned or groomed, but will be soon. The club is starting a full grooming schedule this week.

Thursday morning: 1" loose powder on firm bases, with 3"-6" expected. Join us for night skiing & Ski League tonight, 6PM-8PM. We'll groom at least 25K for Friday, and the whole park for Saturday. In total, we have 87K of XC trails and Squirrel Hill groomed and open.

- The bear is slowly going into hibernation
- With the cold temps and a pump in my washer acting up it was off to the laundry. Spent an afternoon doing laundry and going through summer deposits. Please make sure to get yours in by January 20th or contact me if you need a little longer. Yes, we still use hand made books and no I do not intend on moving them to my computer. Yes, I know there are programs out there, the old system works just fine and does not crash.
- While the temps are cold outside, Troy helped me complete the pesky repairs on my sock machines. My 1924 needed a little help with its side cams and cam spring. I get asked where do I get parts. This repair called for the wire on the inside of a pen. First step was straightening it out
- Inserting the new spring in the side cam. The spring operates the flipper you see in the picture. This machine needed a new flipper which I had made in North Carolina by a lady who specializes in repairing old machines. When the flipper came back to us it was off a little and needed to be bent to fit the cylinder and a new spring inserted which is what you see me doing in the picture. I had never resprung a machine before but after trail and error and taking apart 4 pens got it working
- Here is the 1924 working with both of its side cams. We have one more thing to do and we will have 3 working sock machines
