Snow, Ice and Cookies

IMG_3562 How much snow is on the ground? I think the top of the bird bath is a good measure. It is piling up IMG_3563 The ice from the storm a couple of weeks ago is still on the trees with new snow on top. Until we have a good melt the trees will be loaded down. The trails in the area both skiing and snowmobiling should be in great shape for the holidays. The ice base gave them a great foundation and the new snow on top has made them awesome. Winter Park trails have been open for a couple of weeks and snowmobile trails open this week. I did see tracks across the lake from an intrepid (not the smartest) snowmobiler crossing before the trail has been marked. Someone was on the rink IMG_3567 I have had a few questions from folks wondering how the rink is doing. Right now it needs to be shoveled after a few inches of snow last night. Troy has been running a hose down the hill and flooding it a bit here and there. It should be good for the annual Black Family Christmas Eve hockey tournament. IMG_3561 Our cookie of the year. Tiffany's Easy No Bake Cookies. These have become a staple of our Christmas cookie list 2 cp Sugar 1/2 cup Cocoa 1 stick butter 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup peanut butter 1 tsp vanilla 3 cup oatmeal Bring sugar, cocoa, butter and milk to a rolling boil in a medium size sauce pa, Let boil one minute. Remove from heat and peanut butter, vanilla and oatmeal. Stir until thick. Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool. Makes about 4 doz
