Most of the leaves are on the ground except for the oaks. Took this pic by the lake and I think it sums up the end of October

The precious supply of oak wood that Troy defends all year long for us to use in the winter is slowly making its way over to the house. Ever want to drive Troy nuts, grab some of his oak from his special winter wood supply and burn it in a firepit. I do not recommend this course of action, it has some interesting repercussions.

Fall always brings a few bird hunters from woodcock, ruffed grouse and ducks. No they do not shoot the ducks around the lake but go to more uninhabited lakes and marshes in the area. Deer Hunting is just around the corner November 20th.

It is the time of year to enjoy the quiet and a fireplace and we have several people up doing just that
Finally got a few bridhouses up for the birds in time for snow showers tonight. I do have to admit that quiet days like this around the resort are some of my favorite. Spring is work, Summer is family fun, Winter and Fall are time to slow down and enjoy the quiet. Nice thing is when the quiet starts to get on your nerves Spring and Summer are right around the corner. That is why I could not live in Florida I truly love the change in seasons that Northern Wisconsin offers.
