Northern Lights and Eagles Nest Update

Just beautiful. Ann said the colors were not as vibrant to the naked eye but showed up much better through pics. Amazing show over the lake.

Now on to Eagles Nest. We had a new septic system installed last week. Len Lafreiner has installed every system in the resort except for Eagles Nest. Len can not retire until he completed the circle. They also buried the water line to Shamrock 6 feet down so that it can be used year round. We were thinking of putting a new well at Eagles due to distance from Shamrock, but decided a buried line to hook up at Shamrock was a more economical idea. In the past there was a shallow line from Shamrock to Eagles supplying the water. Now it is 6 feet down and ready for winter use.

Peace and quiet. We leave Eagles pier in year round. It needs straightening in the spring depending on what the ice does

Once the septic was installed it was time to work on closing in the foundation around the cabin. We did this same thing to all the other cabins. Closing in foundation for winter use.

Eagles stayed with in the foot print of the original cabin.

Update on when it will be open again. We were thinking we might have it open this winter but the furnace can not be installed until February. So we will put off opening it up for use until spring. It is going to become the most requested cabin year round once we get it open. It has a loyal crowd in the summer months and it rarely has new guests in it because its loyal following rebooks it when they leave from mid May to end of October. I will make announcement when we open it up for booking in early spring.

We still have 3 cabin left for Thanksgiving. Restawhile, Red Pine and Bear Den. I lowered the nightly min on these 3 to 2 night minimum for Thanksgiving. Winter reservations are slowly and steadily coming in. Christmas week is booking in. Don't wait to long to get those reservations in. Our calendar is open up to October 31, 2026 for bookings. I will add in November as soon as it goes through.

Side Note: I am doing ok with health. I received good news on my last scan last week. Everything in my brain is stable or decreasing which is great. I restarted my chemo after having some side effects. My next scans are beginning of December. Hoping for good news then too. No more fast runs to Mayo to spot shot spots is my goal and enjoy the holidays. Again thanks to all for their understanding and kind words. It is amazing to have the support we have going through all of this. One step at a time.
