We had many families here at Christmas and were full December 23, 24 and 25th. This is one of many groups who enjoyed some special time with family. The Schwerman family enjoyed cutting down a tree to make their own Charlie Brown tree, sleigh ride in Eagle River, many meals together and a rollicking game of hockey which involved a bottle of Ibuprofen afterwards Our own family enjoyed many things but top of the list were Christmas sweaters and making Grandma Millie's Creme De Menthe Bon Bons (also known and booze balls) They would also make a great conversation piece at New Years if you need something to spice up your life 1 cup fine vanilla wafer crumbs (look in cookie aisle they are usually on the top shelf where no one looks) 3/4 cup chopped Pecans 1 cup powdered sugar (too all the guys out there, no this is not regular sugar it is the fine white stuff also known by grandma Millie as confectioner's sugar) 2 Tablespoon light corn syrup 1/3 cup Creme De Menthe (more if you really like it) Combined them all together put in fridge or out your cold door for 1/2 hour, cover to keep squirrels off. shape into balls and roll in more powdered sugar. Enjoy! \ After having a few Creme De Menthe Balls time to mess with the dog. Dog is not amused After messing with the dog time to head to the lake for a bit of family time together with hockey puck and sticks.. what could go wrong This is what could go wrong. Your family starts to look ferocious. Time to go back inside for more Creme De Menthe Bars Other folks were enjoying the lake in a much more peaceful and civil manner Sunset on Lower Kaubashine on Christmas. A great place to be
