Labor Day Weekend

We had a beautiful Labor Day Weekend with families getting in the final beach days

Perfect afternoons at the beach

My old 1956 Shell Lake Ski boat has been sadly in dry dock most of summer with steering issues. If you have never checked out the steering it is antique and happily I have a wonderful brother who learned from previous generations how to repair steering and wood work to keep the old boat going
I just wanted to cruise a couple more times in it before putting it away

This is how steering worked with pullies and cable lines before power steering. One of the old pullies need replacing. Steve did his repair and thought he was leaving for weekend so Paul ( one of our old summer boys who used to drive the boat taking skiers) and I could have fun with it. Only problem.... He fixed steering backwards so it you turned left it went right. Thankfully he had enough time to reverse it and Paul and I got to play in the waves with the red boat and the Princecraft. I could not figure out how to upload video to blog but the videos of Paul and I playing with boats is on resort Facebook page

Weekend had a few projects. Steve and Bella working on Woodshed beautification. Stay tuned for final pic, its gonna be neat.

Meanwhile lots of folks enjoying firepits the Rogowski crew enjoying the goldens evening visits

The infamous Paul enjoying down time after his boat ride with Pam. He survived to tell the tale.

We had 2 of our sons, Jake and fiance, Trinity, and Ben and wife Ali stop in for a nice afternoon with us. Lunch at Hazelhurst Deli was a short trip down the Bearskin on our electric bikes. It was Ben's 28th birthday and we had an engagement to celebrate with Jake and Trinity. Grant and his fiance, Bex are still on a western adventure and unable to join us. Ali and Ben are off to a wedding of Ali's foreign exchange student friend in France this week. Jake and Trinity started the school year our at their respective schools close by and looking at wedding venues. Grant and Bex will be back in a week so Grant to make it to Packers game for his side gig taking pics for the Packers. If you go to a Packer game look for him on field for pregame and half time wearing his brown jacket and hat on backwards swinging a camera around his neck. That is a short family update. Lots going on

Down the Bearskin we went minus Jake and Trinity. We headed south on trail to South Blue Lake

Ali and Ben deciding if they could make it out safely with out falling in at South Blue Lake

Made it! Happy Birthday luck got them back in one piece.

I know I hinted at Facebook about the story of this sign. I think I will save it for next entry. I think realistically I will be trying to do atleast 2 entries a week as a goal and if you get one or 2 more that is a bonus
Weekend of Sept 6th we have one cabin left, Norway and I have a special going on it plus mid week for smaller groups up to 4. If you go over 4 people the systems calculates in 15/night for more than 4 people. Trying to find spots for our smaller groups. I also put a couple specials on sEpt 13th and 20th weekends. When you go to our website and click on reservations to see details, remember instead of entering dates click on lower left side and hit View our Entire Availability that is the easiest way to see things unless you have specific dates you have to stick to.
Please remember I try to limit calls and texts to 9 am til 5. When at resort I now have a white board I put by office door I update daily so folks know the best time to catch me when I am feeling good which is usually 9 to noon unless needed other times. It really helps if folks try best they can to stick with this. There are always exceptions and emergencies we are always here for.
Get ready to find out about the hidden root cellar. Big debate is root cellar one or 2 words..... sign is painted so we will leave it to your imagination if there is a space between root and cellar or not
Please contact us for specific information based on when you wish to vacation at Black's Cliff Resort.
