Falling In Love With Fall

We made it out to see Kelley Castle. We had been meaning to check it out for years but have always been busy. Kelley Castle is about 30 min from the resort and only open one weekend a year to the public. The weekend always lines up with Tomahawk's Fall Ride. Every year the castle is a little more complete. The owner has been working on it for over 30 years

We had to leave for a few days to Mayo this week. We left the resort in the capable hands of Steve, and Kevin and Paul who are pictured above. Paul and Kevin both worked at the resort back in the 70's and early 80's. They had fun keeping eye on everything for us and the goldens.

They had an open chair for their buddy, my father, who they are missing. They put out a can of Old Mil in honor of him

We had a ton of rain come in this week. The lake rose up to the edge of the beach wall

Quick up date on our mayo trip. I had scans from neck down and had mixed results so they are switching me up again in treatment. I will start taking a chemo pill this week. It is supposed to be a little easier on me. I get this little breather for a couple of months while we see how I respond to it. They have other drugs in my tool box but for now this is the best option. I am hoping for less side effects and stability.

Water so high the boats are almost coming up on land. We took out a few so less bailing.

Not the best pic but it is Oogie and I following Troy to HIlltop with the Gruman pontoon boat. The Gruman is only for sitting on as an extra dock. It's motor only runs to get it to the resort in early July and out again after Labor Day. I was not sure if he would need a tow or not. Luckily it made it only cutting out twice

I have some specials going on mid week this week and for Beef A Rama Weekend. I have both Red PIne and Bear Den open for Beef A Rama. I am putting both on special at 225/night Fri and Sat and mid week 200/night for up to 4. Add in more people over 4, up to 10 at 15/night extra. I have several cabins that open up on Saturday the 27th that I have also put on special for next weekend and into the following week. Check out our availability on the website for more details. Thanksgiving and Christmas reservations have started to come in. If you are thinking about the holidays don't wait to long. I am entering returning guests into our system for end of August and into Sept. I will be opening up early fall 2026 soon for online bookings
