Cliff, Jim stop in to see Hortence

Jim Kotowicz our 2009 ice out winner came up this week. Cliff and Jim stopped into the Northwoods Wildlife Center to present them with 150 dollars Jim's winnings and the Wildlife Center's portion in the ice out contest to the Wildlife Center. Beth was happy to accept on behalf of Hortense, the 7 bear cubs and all the rest of the residents Hortence the Turkey Vulture who has met Cliff up close gave him and Jim a salute as only a Turkey Vulture with only one wing can. Hortence has been at the center since 1988 putting interns through their paces and teaching them a healthy respect for old Turkey Vultures. She has arthritis now but still makes interns tremble After dropping off the donation to the Wildlife Center, Cliff and Jim stopped into the Taco Shack to celebrate over a zesty chicken burrito In other news...... Beach Sand is making it to the beach one bucket at a time. This is why it is hard to see young kids throwing our beach sand in the lake. One bucket at a time down the stairs Pontoon boat getting a fresh coat of paint for the summer. It might make it in by this weekend
